Dedicating a bench at the Zoo gives you a unique opportunity to present a thoughtful gift, memorialize or honor a family member or friend and offers a special place where you can come and visit to reflect on cherished memories. Commemorative benches add character to the Zoo campus, enhance the visitor experience with a place to relax while enjoying the wildlife, and provide necessary financial support for the animals who call Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo home.

Commemorative Bench Recognition Plaque Options:

• 8 in x 2 in Recognition Plaque | $3,500 – These plaques can hold up to 3 lines of text and 20 characters per line.
• 10.5 in x 3 in Recognition Plaque | $5,000 – These plaques can hold up to 4 lines of text and 28 characters per line.

Ordering Process & Timeline:

Once you place your order, your message will be reviewed by Zoo staff and you will be emailed a proof of the plaque layout to ensure all spellings are correct, and the inscription meets your expectations. These plaques are laser engraved, so character counts are approximate and often a few more letters can be added per line by reducing the font size. Once your plaque is approved, it typically takes 3-4 weeks for engraving and installation. Once your nameplate is installed, you will be emailed a photo and details of its location, making it easier to find on your next visit.

With over 80 benches located throughout Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, you can choose a bench in an area of the Zoo that’s meaningful to you.
