Go behind the scenes for a unique look at the science and care that supports wildlife conservation at the zoo. Your adventure begins in our Hellbender Conservation Room, where you will discover the fascinating story of the hellbender, an incredible amphibian native to Indiana. Learn how our team is working to protect and restore populations of this rare species.
Then continue your experience with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Animal Hospital, where our veterinary team cares for animals across the zoo. Along the way, you’ll learn about the tools, techniques, and teamwork involved in keeping animals healthy.
A portion of your Wild Encounter supports our Zoo Conservation Fund.
