Plant & Learn is a hands-on workshop where you and a partner create a take-home project while learning from the Zoo’s horticulture specialists.

The date you select determines the project you will make. Projects cannot be changed.

Pollinator
May 22 | 2:00 – 3:00 PM
Create a pollinator hanger designed to support butterflies.

• The Pollinator class includes:
• 2 annual plants to take home that attract pollinators
• Monarch feeder that is made in class
• 1 pack of butterfly milkweed seeds
• Take home instructions on how to make a pollinator hanger at home

Planter
May 23 | 12:00 – 1:00 PM
Create a wooden planter filled with summer annuals.

• The Planter class includes:
• 1 planter (includes soil, liner, hanger, planter made out of cedar)
• 5 annual plants to plant in basket during class
• Take home instructions on how to make a cedar planter at home, along with plant care instructions

Container
May 24 | 1:00 – 2:00 PM
Create a hypertufa container filled with succulents.

• The Container class includes:

• 1 hypertufa pot 
• 5-7 succulent plants with soil mix
• Take home instructions on how to make a hypertufa pot at home, along with plant care instructions

$75 includes:
• One project for up to two guests
• All materials for that specific date’s project
• Expert instruction during the class and take home instructions to utilize at home
• Snacks and drinks
• Full-day admission for one guest to the Fort Wayne Zoo
• Option to add one discounted admission ticket for $17 (valid day of event only)
